For 11 years, this sanctuary has existed because thousands of people chose to believe in something better — that individuals who once ran for their lives, or were destined to become barcodes, deserved safety, dignity, joy, and time. We said yes — over and over again — even when it broke our hearts, even when it cost more than we had. And many of those residents are still here — still depending on us — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

And I am here — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I am on-site every night. I look every resident in the eyes before I leave the barns. I make sure they are safe, warm, and loved. But my love alone is not enough to carry this.
