We all know that families come in all shapes and sizes, and so do friendships! It’s truly amazing to watch what can happen when animals are allowed to be themselves and form bonds of friendship and love that are meaningful to them.

Heather, a volunteer with HEEFS since X2017 has formed a very special bond with head rooster and all-around goodwill ambassador for HEEFS, Richard. 

To say that marketing messages surrounding our food are misleading would be an understatement, and perhaps nowhere is this more true than when it comes to the use of animals in our food system.

Being in Canada, we are lucky to experience four seasons each year. Each season brings with it a lot of beauty and a lot of challenges.

On October 6th we had the incredible honour of hosting our 5th Annual ThanksLiving event at HEEFS. Every year this event gets bigger and better, and 2019 was no exception!
